Ever since Baldur’s Gate 3’s ultra-powerful Patch 7 dropped yesterday, PC players have naturally been trying out all of its new features – especially those extra evil endings. It turns out that some of these endings are like an emotional rollercoaster that even the hardiest duergar can’t endure without feeling something. That being said, the biggest heartbreak is reserved for players who love a particular bard.
If you want to know what is included in the patch, you should check out the full notes now that they are out, and you can find them here Also, it is out now on PC, but if you want to play it on consoles or Mac, you will have to wait a little longer.

Warning: Major spoilers ahead for Baldur’s Gate 3 and its new ending.
That’s right, since the patch went live, players have been trying out the new endings and have been either wowed or deeply shocked. The first faction is Karak’s evil ending, which is aptly described as “absolute metal,” where she basically does a wrestling promo on the citizens of Baldur’s Gate before summoning some demons and ripping her heart out.
It’s your favorite golden retriever with no chill, and her voice actress, Samantha Béart, responded to people loving the performance by shouting out the script and director, saying they’ll come up with a fan reaction to a scene that ends with “Damn, my dick’s hard.”

And then there’s this ending where you kill off the likes of Shadowheart and Gale and have them utter some memorable last words before falling into an abyss where “I… I thought we’d save each other” and “You make me want to live” seem like people are doing the home equivalent of getting down on their knees in a supermarket.
However, the most heartbreaking ones seem to be those who thought Larian hinted in the Community Update that the patch would make Alfira a full permanent companion or change her fate in the Dark Urge game. Sadly, Larian wrote in the patch notes: “We remember clearly stating in Community Update #28 that if you are playing as Dark Urge, a certain Bard will now be able to join the party as a controllable character if there is space in the camp, but this is temporarily the case.
“It looks like some of you didn’t get our point. No new companions. Only death.” Oops. As you can tell from people saying things like “I’m sure someone will find a way to break the game to keep her” and “Those evil bastards at Larian like to play tricks,” the Alfira Alliance is taking this well.
