Call of Duty Black Ops 6 will be free to play for a long weekend and even offers the chance to win gifts that will be transferable to the final game when it launches in October. Here’s what’s changing during the second beta weekend and how you can win those famous gifts.
Activision’s next big FPS already had a beta phase last week. A test phase for those who have already pre-ordered the game or a few lucky, hand-picked people. Now there is a larger free beta for Call of Duty Black Ops 6 for everyone. And an update was provided, new content was added and gifts are to be unlocked for the final game.
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is free to play for a weekend
The Call of Duty Black Ops 6 open beta runs from September 6th at 7pm until September 9th and since last week some things have changed.
From now on, You can reach player level 30 and thus unlock Additional objects to personalize your courses. In particular, two scorestreaks were addedThe first requires two consecutive waves of fighter planes that clear the skies by destroying the other bonuses of the air series (drone, helicopter, etc.) and the second is a gunship that you can pilot yourself. In addition to the drones, two great classics are added, the RCXD and the already available cruise missile.
A selection of modes on very small maps has also been addedwith two completely new, scaled-down maps. As for the normal quick play selection, A new map has been addedwhich increases the choice to 4 playable maps. As a reminder, there will be almost 16 maps available at launch of Call of Duty Black Ops 6, which is not bad at all. In addition, the full list of multiplayer maps has already been leaked. Others will of course become available as the free updates progress.
A first update and adjustments
With this new beta The game takes the opportunity to make initial adjustmentsespecially in terms of movement speed with weapon classes (assault rifle, shotgun, submachine gun, etc.). Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is indeed extremely twitchy, much more so than any other Call of Duty before it. In fact, more than any current FPS. Omni-movement and improvements in environmental interaction change absolutely everything. So much so that returning to a previous installment after about ten hours of Black Ops 6 gives the impression of playing a badly aged game.
This reversal doesn’t disrupt the formula, but rather revitalizes it. A change that not everyone particularly likes, but which nonetheless has many fans.
However, the studio had to make some adjustments to the native speed at which you move or crouch with certain weapon types to give it a bit more consistency. You can find the millimeter-accurate details on the official website.
Endgame gifts you can earn while playing
But what will please you most about this new beta is that there are even more gifts to unlock, cosmetics that we can then find in the final game. Modern Warfare 3 players can already access XP boosters and other challenges exclusive to their game, but there is also content available exclusively for COD Black Ops 6.
By simply playing, you can unlock two Operator skins, a Bug Smasher weapon blueprint, a No Bugs weapon charm, a tag, an emote, an emblem, and a loading screen. Simply level up to unlock them. Just play.
As a reminder, Call of Duty Black Ops 6 will be released on October 25th for Xbox Series, PS5 and PC. Old-gen versions will also be included.
