Silent Hill 2 Remake will try to stay as faithful to the original as possible and will feature a number of similar options to Metal Gear Solid 3 Delta.
Contrary to expectations, Silent Hill 2 Remake may not be the bloodbath feared after the gameplay trailers. After picking it up for three hours, we were reassured by what we saw. However, there are still some uncertainties, particularly how sensitive the themes of the original are.
Silent Hill 2 Remake wants to get as close to the original as possible
Beyond longevity, Silent Hill 2 Remake aims to be close to the original in many ways. But it won’t just be a prettier copy, as Bloober Team has made many changes. Of course, the first thing you notice is the technical advancement since the game runs on the Unreal Engine 5. But when you start it up, you run the risk of being disturbed by something: the lack of grain. In fact, for Silent Hill 2 Remake, the developers have decided to remove this fundamental aspect, but it will still be there… as an option!
Like Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake, this will be available via graphics filters. “Looking for the most addictive way to play Silent Hill 2? You have the option to disable all interface elements. We also created a “90s filter” with grain effect, color correction and screen adjustments
This is good news if it is done well, but we can’t help but regret that it is not integrated into the DA. Because, as with MGS Delta, there is a chance that the rendering in the final version will not be up to scratch. We will soon be able to judge for ourselves, as Silent Hill 2 will be released exclusively on PS5 and PC again starting October 8, 2024.
