After adapting the Cyberpunk 2077 universe, Studio Trigger announces that it is working on a hugely popular franchise that celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.
There’s nothing more to expect from CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077, but that doesn’t mean the universe is dead. The Polish studio has 60 people working on the sequel and knows that this number will double in 2025. Now that all updates are available on PC and consoles, you can also (re)play the first episode in the best conditions and immediately do the Phantom Liberty DLC. Or take a look at the Netflix animated series: Edgerunners. If you don’t mind board games, you should also keep an eye on the Go On Board project, which is launching a crowdfunding campaign for Cyberpunk 2077: the official board game.
A great project for the creators of the Cyberpunk 2077 series
You may know that the universe of Cyberpunk2077 was therefore expanded to include the animated series Cyberpunk Edgerunners, available on Netflix. “In a dystopian society filled with corruption and cybernetic implants, a talented and impulsive street urchin aspires to become a lawless mercenary.”
With or without the Trigger studio behind Edgerunners? That’s the big question, but given the success of this first animated adaptation of Cyberpunk 2077, the makers of Kill la Kill may have a chance to be remembered. Meanwhile, the Trigger studio is working on a cult license that will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2024: Transformers
