The Prime Video series is officially a nuclear bomb

bomb, nuclear, officially, Prime, series, Video

Prime Video’s Fallout series is officially a complete atom bomb: After enormous critical and commercial success, it rounds off its success story with awards from its competitors.

The Creative Arts Emmy Awards have indeed delivered their verdict on the 76 awards handed out in this year’s edition, and Prime Video’s Fallout series was in the running for 16 of them. It joins two other industry-acclaimed video game series adaptations, Arcane and The Last of Us, in receiving awards of their own.

A nuclear bomb as a reward for the Fallout series

The Fallout series hit like a bomb when it was released on Prime Video, with very positive reviews and very good ratings. A truly radioactive success that triggered a massive influx of new players to the games it was inspired by, such as Fallout 4 or 76. The adaptation, led by Jonathan Nolan, also left its mark on the industry, winning 16 categories at the Emmy Awards. Among them were Outstanding Drama Series, Exceptional Fantasy/SF Costume Design and Outstanding Lead Actor for a Drama Series for Walton Goggins (the Ghoul).

The Fallout series finally returns to Vault 33 with two Emmy Awards: “Outstanding Musical Supervision” for the first episode with the song “The End” and “Outstanding Emerging Media Program” for the interactive website Safe 33so you can own its universe and characters. Please note, however, that this is not listed on the Emmy Awards website referenced in the source below. In any case, this puts the series in the pantheon of video game adaptations that are acclaimed series on all levels.

For its part, Arcane became Netflix’s first adaptation to win Emmys in 2022, winning four (out of five), including the prestigious award for Outstanding Animated Program. HBO’s The Last of Us went home last year with no less than eight Emmys (out of twenty-four), including Outstanding Special Effects and Outstanding Guest Actor twice for Nick Offerman and Riley Abel. The Fallout series was therefore not unworthy. Let’s hope it receives the same explosive response with a season 2 that promises to be even better in every way.
