Last year Ubisoft has The Crew from digital stores and a few months later Ubisoft shut down its servers, making it impossible to play the racing game even if you bought it on CD. People didn’t like that and now Ubisoft promises not to cancel its sequels, The Crew 2 And The Crew: Motorfest.

At the end of December 2023, Ubisoft removed the open-world racing game from the list without any real warning The Crew and announced that its servers would be shut down a few months later. This effectively destroyed the game and made it completely unplayable. As you can understand, people who spend money on The Crew were not happy that it was killed. And this incident helped launch the Stop Killing Games movementthat now advance the European Union to create new rules that would force publishers to make online-only games playable offline, instead of letting them disappear when the servers are shut down. And hey, look at this, Ubisoft promises to provide offline support for the remaining crew games.

On September 10, Ubisoft held a small presentation in which new content and updates for The Crew Motorfest. But before they got to all the fun stuffUbisoft took a moment to address the players’ “concerns” regarding the possibility of crew Games in the future.

“Today we would like to demonstrate our commitment to the future of The Crew 2 And The Crew Motorfest”, said Stéphane Beley, senior creative director of the franchise. “We are currently evaluating various solutions and can confirm an offline mode to ensure long-term access to both titles.”

Ubisoft did not provide a date for when to expect these offline modes, but told players there would be news in the “next few months.”

I can’t imagine everyone Feature of The Crew 2 or Motor party will be included in the upcoming offline modes, it’s still nice to know that these games won’t disappear completely when the servers go offline one day. And as more and more games become online-focused live service thingsI hope more publishers realize that offering offline modes can avoid a lot of frustration and even potential lawsuits.

Unfortunately, Ubisoft had no news about the original crew or plans to bring the game back via a similar offline mode.
