Adjustments to the final boss of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree were made with today’s update.< /p>
Players of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree can now download a new update with improvements and fixes.
With the update, FromSoftware made balance adjustments to the final boss. Among other things, the initial action patterns were changed, movements during attacks were adjusted and some damage was reduced.
In addition, adjustments have also been made that only apply to PvP.
Check out the patch notes, as this patch is more extensive and includes further optimizations and bug fixes.
Balance adjustments for the final boss
The following adjustments were made to the final boss of “Shadow of the Earth Tree”
- The action pattern for starting battle has been changed.
- Adjusted some attack moves.
- The damage of some attacks has been reduced.
- Reduced stamina damage of some attacks.
- The attack range of some non-weapon-based attacks has been reduced.
- The visibility of some attack effects has been improved.
PvP-exclusive balance adjustments

- Backhand Blades damage against other players has been reduced. (Smithscript Cirque’s throwing attacks are unaffected by this change.)
- Spears’ dual-wield attack damage against other players has been reduced.
- The Pata weapon’s damage against other players has been reduced.
- The Spread Crossbow weapon no longer deals headshot damage when it hits another player.

- The damage animation value generated by this skill when hitting another player has been reduced.

- Black Pyreflies items now respawn correctly when resting at a Place of Grace.
- Fixed a bug where performing a heavy attack with a light greatsword while jumping did not consume stamina.
- Fixed a bug that could cause unintended weapon skills to be used when the Ballista was equipped in the left hand.
- Fixed a bug that caused Taylew, the Golemsmith, to have lower than intended critical hit damage when using certain weapons.

- Fixed a bug that caused the Rolling Sparks skill to go through certain terrain.
- Fixed a bug where the Blades of Stone spell would not properly hit targets at a different height.
- Fixed a bug where some attacks from Bayle’s Tyranny Summon were not hitting multiple enemies.
- Fixed a bug that caused Bayle’s Tyranny Summon attack to go through certain terrain.
- Fixed a bug where Godfrey’s Icon Talisman was not applicable to some skills, spells, and summons.
- Fixed a bug that prevented the player from becoming transparent when equipped with the Crepus’ Vial talisman and using the Invisible Form spell.
- Fixed a bug where the hitboxes of some of Rellana, Twin Moon Knight’s attacks were different than intended.
- Fixed a bug where the Exit option in the inventory menu could not be selected for some equipment.
- Fixed a bug that made it difficult to touch some Site of Graces under certain circumstances.
- Fixed a bug in some areas where the Invasion spawn-in position was different than intended.

- Fixed a bug where, under certain circumstances, the combat state would not be released after defeating an invading NPC.

Possible unstable performance corrections
- On the PS5 version of the game, an unstable frame rate may be able to be improved by using the “Rebuild Database” option in the device’s Safe Mode.
- On some PC versions, Ray Tracing may be inadvertently enabled and cause unstable performance. Please check the Ray Tracing settings under “System” > “Graphics” > “Ray Tracing Quality” on the title screen or in-game menu.
- In the PC version, the message “Inappropriate activity detected” can appear even without cheating. To resolve this issue, please verify the integrity of the game files before restarting the game.
- In the PC version, unstable frame rate may be caused by third-party applications that control mouse behavior. Disabling these third-party applications may improve performance.
