One of the things that PlayStation 5 users miss the most was the themes from the previous console that allowed us to configure the screen with different images and sound effects. We can finally do something similar. PlayStation announced that with the new PS5 update, the Welcome Center will begin to be launched in phases, a personalized screen in which we can finally change the background of the main menu.
In addition to changing the background, the Welcome Center will allow you to customize the widgets that you can see at first glance, including: console storage, battery levels for accessories, online friends, trophies, and more.
When is the Welcome Center coming to PS5 so I can change the menu background?
Some players in the United States will begin seeing this new option starting with the update on September 12, 2024. It will then gradually roll out to other users around the world.
Other new features in the September 12 firmware update
- New Share Group option (initially in the United States, it will reach other users over the next few weeks)
- Custom 3D audio profiles for headphones and earbuds
- New option to adjust Remote Play settings on a per-user basis.
- Adaptive charging for controllers on PS5 Slim and Pro.
