While CD Projekt RED’s attention is focused on the sequel, Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a major new patch, but not for everyone.
Seven months after update 2.12, Cyberpunk 2077 welcomes its little sister. While the previous version covered all platforms, version 2.13, which applies to the base game and Phantom Liberty, this time only targets PC, with the additions especially anticipated by a large number of computer gamers.
Cyberpunk 2077 updates its PC implant again
After long being the graphics standard for NVIDIA technologies such as DLSS, Cyberpunk 2077 is slowly but surely gaining support from the other team, AMD, and its famous FSR 3. The update to 2.13 of CD Projekt RED’s last major game on the engine, RED Engine, finally pays attention to a wider range of computer gamers, many of whom do not have a prohibitively expensive graphics card capable of taking full advantage of DLSS 2 and 3 of the Chameleon brand.
Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty now support AMD FidelitFX Super Resolution 3 with Frame Generation. The title will therefore experience a significant performance boost thanks to Team Rouge’s very solid technology, which will benefit AMD graphics cards as well as NVIDIA or Intel models. The latter also benefit from the additional support for Intel Xe Super Sampling 1.3.
Note that despite a PC-exclusive patch, cross-progression with the console versions of Cyberpunk 2077 remains current. It is also possible that this update will soon arrive on consoles, especially on the PS5 Pro, earning the famous “Enhanced” label. However, a new update on PC requires the risk of making several mods incompatible, so we will have to wait for their creators to rework them so that they work again.
