Combo Breaker is arguably the most well-known and respected race in the martial arts community, second only to the Evolution Championship Series in terms of size and prestige. Organizing duo Rick and Caitlyn Thiher have been managing the event based in Chicago since filling the vacancy left by their Midwestern predecessor, Ultimate Fighting Game Tourmet, in 2015.

The organizers offer a full refund of all Combo Breaker registration costs and hotel deposits while sending badges and salaries, a 50-page site, and any pre-sale sales thanks to the ongoing sponsorship of the original ASTRO Gaming event, which is to cover the associated costs. Attendees who have already booked their rooms have the option to add those reservations to next year's event. Combo Breaker also opened a webstore a small selection of sales for its 2020 sale, used property, and a commemorative price token for members of the public who want to support the tournament's efforts and receive something in return.

Instead of a tournament, Combo Breaker is partnering with videograph Esteban Martinez for Hold the Block, Sppey Team outfit distributor, and broadcaster Stephen “Sajam” Lyon to create the radio, scheduled for May, which includes special receptions on event history and outstanding game highlights from the last five years. Members of the public will be able to send individual memories of the previous Combo Breaker to be shared in the stream.

"Although some of our planning decisions may be affected by how well our group gets canceled this year, we are now committed to fully implementing the event next year," Thiher said. "Our team hopes that the discarded clothing today helps us with the 2020 development team needed to feed that desire."
