No one can deny that using wireless peripherals, be they keyboards, mice, headphones or even printers, without constantly fighting over cables, is one of the best options on the market, even if it means being aware of periodically charging the device if we do not want to get stuck, which we can do by connecting the corresponding charging cable to the PC.
If we talk about wireless devices, we must talk about devices that work through a Bluetooth connection or through radio frequencies, models that include a receiver and a transmitter that we must connect to the equipment to establish communication. When the latter stops working, unless it also includes support for Bluetooth, we can forget about it unless we are lucky enough to find a compatible receiver.
We will not encounter this problem if we use Bluetooth, however, we may face a similar problem if it is the equipment itself that is not able to detect any of the devices with this communication protocol that we use connected to our PC. Fortunately, this problem has a much simpler solution than if we use an RF receiver. If you encounter this problem, below we show you all the options that you should try to find the solution to the problem.
How to Fix Bluetooth Problems in Windows
The first thing you need to know before anything else is that if the Bluetooth icon is not displayed on the right side of the taskbar, it does not mean that it is not working, it simply means that the icon is hidden, so if the connected devices They work, you do not need to continue reading.
- device Manager. To make sure that Windows recognizes the Bluetooth of our computer, the first thing we must do is access the device manager through the Windows search box and check if one of the sections is Bluetooth, as we can see in the following image.
- Update Drivers. From the Device Manager we must check if there is a new update pending installation. To do this, among the different options presented in the Bluetooth section, we select the Generic Bluetooth Radio option and with the right mouse button we select the option Update the driver.
- Check that the device is connected. It is possible that Windows, or we, without realizing it, have deleted the Bluetooth device from Windows and that is why it does not work. To make sure, we access the Windows configuration options (Win + i) and click on Devices. Here all the devices associated with the device will be displayed and where the one we want to use should be. Otherwise, we will have to start the process to pair it.
- If the device we want to use is displayed in the list, but is not paired, we must remove it from the device list and pair it again. This happens when we have paired it with another computer and the Bluetooth version of the device is not multi-device (it allows pairing with multiple devices at the same time). To remove it, we select it from the list and click on the three vertical dots that appear to eliminate the Delete device option.
If none of these options work, it is most likely that it no longer works. Here, the simplest and cheapest solution is to buy a Bluetooth USB dongle, a device that costs a little more than 10 dollars on Amazon or to use an expansion card with Bluetooth.
