The developers of Palworld make it clear that the business model will not be changed. Palworld will therefore be neither free-to-play nor GaaS.
The developers of Palworld have made it clear once again that the business model will not change. They will stick with “pay to play” and will not switch to free-to-play or GaaS.
The reason for the clarification is that an interview was held about the future of Palworld, but the context was contradictory. Therefore, the team felt compelled to clarify it again.
“On the future of Palworld – TL;DR – We are not changing the business model of our game, it will continue to be buy-to-play and not F2P or GaaS.”
“An article was recently published where we discussed the possible future direction of Palworld and ideas for a long-term continuation of the game.”
“In fact, this interview was conducted several months ago. Back then, we were still thinking about how best to make Palworld a long-lasting game that would continue to grow. We are still discussing this internally, as it is quite difficult to find the ideal path, but we have already decided that the F2P/GaaS approach is not suitable for us.”
“Palworld was never designed with this model in mind and it would require too much work to adapt the game at this point. Furthermore, we are very aware that this is simply not what our players want and we always put our players first.”
“We are still considering releasing skins and DLC for Palworld in the future to support development, but we will discuss this again with all of you as we get closer to that point. For now, our priority remains to make Palworld the best game possible.”
“We apologize for any concerns and hope this clarifies our position.”
“Thank you for your continued support of Palworld.”
