Apple today released iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS 15, watchOS 11, and all of its other big fall operating systems. It’s a big day full of new features and capabilities!
But if you can’t update your device today, or don’t want to yet, you don’t want to miss out on all the security patches that come with it. That’s why Apple also released iOS 17.7 and iPadOS 17.7 today.
The updates include 16 security fixes, some of which seem pretty important. You should probably update immediately.
While iOS 18 supports all the same iPhones as iOS 17, the same is not true for iPadOS 18. If you have a 2nd generation iPad Pro (2017, 12.9-inch and 10.5-inch) or a 6th generation iPad (2018), you cannot update to iPadOS 18, so this security update is especially important for you.
