What’s next for the Resident Evil remakes? After part 4, it’s still uncertain which episode of the survival horror series will be re-released in revised form next – or if it will be released at all. But according to the well-known leaker DuskGollum, who has already released insider information about the franchise several times in the past, two new remakes are currently in the works.

These two games are said to be real fan favorites. According to DuskGollum, remakes of Resident Evil Code: Veronica and Resident Evil: Zero are in the works. Both games are popular with fans primarily for refreshing the series’ traditional survival horror formula with modern gameplay elements.

Resident Evil Code: Veronica focuses on Claire Redfield, who continues to search for her brother Chris Redfield after the events of the second part. Resident Evil: Zero is a prequel to the first part and shows what Rebecca Chambers and the BRAVO team experienced before they ended up in the famous mansion.

In contrast to the remakes of parts 3 and 4, the two upcoming games are supposed to offer less action. The aim is to stay true to the style of the two basic games and appeal to an audience that wants classic horror games with a modern twist.

What is interesting here is the reason given by insider DuskGollum for a remake of Resident Evil: Zero. The game is intended to draw attention to a new film whose plot is based on it.

These teams will develop the two remakes

According to insider information, the new edition of Resident Evil: Code Veronica will be produced by the developer Capcom Dev 1. This team was also responsible for the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 4. The developer studios K2 & M-Two are said to be working on the remake of Resident Evil: Zero. The two studios previously produced the DLC Separate Ways for Resident Evil 4.

The end of Resident Evil 4 Remake and its DLC Separate Ways actually suggested that a remake of the fifth part could be in the works. At least both endings contained clear allusions to its plot. But according to leaks, there are currently no plans for this, as the fifth part is currently too modern.

Even though DuskGollum has been right about his insider information in the past, this information should be read with caution. There is always the possibility that an insider is wrong, plans are changed, or he just wants to make himself important. None of the projects mentioned have been officially confirmed by Capcom.
