These are difficult times for lovers of life simulation games. Not least because Life By You has been cancelled and inZOI is dividing people over the use of generative AI. EA, for its part, officially announces that there is no project for The Sims 5. Instead, the studio is working on another expansion for The Sims 4 with the Rene project. This DLC, which will be offered to players for free, will include a multiplayer mode Cross-play (mobile and PC) and player-designed Creator Kits. EA’s justification? Kate Gorman, Vice President of The Sims, explains the feeling “concerned that players (reportedly over 80 million worldwide) would have to start all over again after a decade of playing The Sims 4”.
