About three years ago, Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) first appeared as an antagonist in WandaVision. Now she gets her own show. The only question is whether Agatha can keep up with her rival Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). We will now clarify that, because the first press reviews point in all possible directions.
Warning, spoilers! The following is about the ending of WandaVision. If you haven’t seen the series yet, skip this section.
The immortal Marvel witch
At the end of WandaVision, Agatha Harkness was cast a spell by Wanda. As a result, in her own show, she has no memories of her past life and works in the Westview murder investigation under the alias Agnes. With the help of another witch, she is able to remember and goes back to her original plan: to become as powerful as possible!
WandaVision was the start of the fourth phase of the MCU and is set after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Agatha All Along is set after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where Scarlet Witch also became a villain herself.

Agatha All Along is now available on Disney Plus
Scary good to so-so
On Metacritic The series currently receives 67 percent, although this score is based on only 28 reviews. It doesn’t look much better on Rotten Tomatoes where it is currently only at 65 percent. What is interesting here, however, is that the audience score of 80 percent is not all that bad.
It is important to note that the press was only allowed to watch the first four of nine episodes in advance. Which is why the opinions only refer to the beginning of the season.
What do the critics like? The humor and the fact that Marvel shows a mysterious side of their universe are particularly praised. The performance of Agatha actress Kathryn Hahn, who is played by GamesRadar is described as “incredibly talented”.
In terms of costumes, sets and visuals, Agatha All Along also manages to find its own unique path, according to critics, and is a homage to WandaVision.
What problems are there? Some people think that the show seems a bit “inconsequential” and that the many characters don’t get the chance to develop properly. A direct comparison with WandaVision shows that the new series cannot reach the same level as its predecessor.
