Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was a major flop! The makers of Rocksteady Studios are now considering a return to the established Batman series.
With the Batman Arkham series, Rocksteady Studios once delivered several excellent action games that not only received good reviews but were also a commercial success. Accordingly, hopes were high for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, but this action game was a complete flop. Rocksteady now seems to be taking action.
According to the usually very well informed and connected insider Shpeshal_Nick from Xbox Era The developers now want to return to the Batman franchise in a more traditional way than with Suicide Squad. In addition, Sony is trying to secure an exclusivity agreement for this potential new Batman game, which could mean that the title could initially only be released for the PlayStation.
Shpeshal_Nick responded to a question via social media about whether Rocksteady could make a new Batman game: “I heard that Rocksteady are back and making one” – coupled with the statement about the possible Sony deal.
There is no further information about the supposed new Batman game yet and it remains to be seen whether one will actually come out. To date, there has been no official announcement from Rocksteady.
The Batman series from the developer studio came to an end in 2015 with Batman: Arkham Knight; this title concluded the trilogy. There were then VR spin-offs for PC and PlayStation 4 in 2016 before Suicide Squad was released. Other insiders have apparently not been able to verify Shpeshal_Nick’s information to date, so caution is advised for the time being.
