Post-apocalyptic scenarios are very popular, as the series adaptation of The Last of Us showed us very clearly. Now Netflix is announcing The Eternaut its own series, which is atmospherically very reminiscent of the HBO show.
A first trailer shows what threatens the existence of humanity and how the world is slowly being exposed to decay. You can then watch the Argentinian series 2025 on Netflix We don’t know exactly when yet.
Neue Science-Fiction-Action à la The Last of Us und Fallout
The show is set in Buenos Aires, where deadly radioactive particles suddenly rain from the sky. The main character Juan Salvo (Ricardo Darín) and other survivors must not only come up with a good survival strategy, but also defend themselves against an alien invasion.
The trailer begins with a close-up of Salvo wearing a gas mask. A gadget that is a constant companion in The Last of Us to protect against the dangerous fungal spores. Another parallel can be found in the environment: deserted streets, cars piled up at borders and human remains lying around.

Attention fans of The Last of Us, Fallout and Co.! The Eternaut could be a great addition to the sci-fi genre
The background to The Eternaut
The new project is based on the comic The Eternaut by Héctor Germán Oesterheld and Francisco Solano López, which was published between 1957 and 1957.
During the years of publication, Argentina was going through a difficult political period, marked by a military dictatorship and cultural oppression. The comic is considered to be a visualization of this dark period and became a symbol of resistance in Argentina.
The author’s grandson is also involved in the production Martin Oesterheld who carries on his grandfather’s legacy to the next generation.
We’ll find out exactly what Salvo and his group are up against next year. The first trailer looks promising and certainly makes us curious. To what extent the series can be compared to hits such as Fallout remains to be seen.
Nevertheless, in 2025 we can look forward to another science fiction work in addition to a second season of The Last of Us.
