Magis TV is a service that offers access to thousands of movies and series, as well as hundreds of live channels, for a very low price. However, Magis TV offers this content illegallyand that is why the Argentine Justice ordered the absolute blockade of the country.
The local court ruling ordered Google block all Magis TV domains. In addition, several arrests have been made in the country regarding products offering access to this service. This is a historic decision that follows a joint investigation by Argentina, Brazil, Peru, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Magis TV is a service based on IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) lists to offer access to live sports and thousands of series and movies, including content from platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. All this, for a considerably low price, which is only possible because it offers illegal access to the content: Magis TV does not have the corresponding transmission rightsThis is therefore a violation of intellectual property.
It is estimated that Magis TV has had around 55 million visits in the last 6 months, so for Justice, this service and others like it represent a threat to the local and international television and entertainment industry.
This is why the judge in charge of Court Number 4 of San Isidro, Argentina, condemned the blocking of all domains related to this illegal service. This failure was carried out within the framework of the so-called Operation 404, an international investigation against this type of illegal services and applications, which includes the Brazilian justice system and the authorities of Argentina, Peru, the United States and the United Kingdom.
The court, in addition to ordering the blocking of domains, also asked Google to implement measures to block the use of the Magis TV application on all devices operating with an IP address in Argentina. So far, Google already blocks the installation of the application through a warning from Google Play, since users can install a version of this application modified with malware, thus becoming a risk for users.
Finally, the authorities are also seeking to block the sale and distribution of TV Box-type devices that allow access to Magis TV and other applications offering illegal content. Justice officials have already taken action searches and arrests of people who distributed these TV Boxes in the provinces of Buenos Aires and Misiones.
