When Sony first started producing PC peripherals, it attracted a lot of attention, especially because of its high prices. It had been a long time since the company would launch new products within this new line of peripherals. Now, according to rumors, Sony wants to relaunch the line INZONE monitors with a new solution that would have OLED panel.
We all know Sony mainly for its TVs and consoles, although it covers many more segments and products. In 2022, the company surprised by announcing a range of very high-end peripherals called INZONE.
This lineup includes high-end monitors and headphones, with quite exorbitant prices. They mainly focused on PC users looking for high-end solutions, but it didn’t catch on. The lack of a keyboard and mouse made (and does) users prefer other brands that offer the whole combo.
Sony offers new INZONE monitor with OLED panel
After the launch of the first products, it seems that for two years the company has been doing something else. We imagine that developing a PS5 Pro console for 800 dollars will have taken them a long time. It may be that with so many divisions and segments, they have forgotten this product line due to its low sales.
The rumors come from Weibo, a Chinese social network from where a specialized media indicates that Sony is preparing a new INZONE monitor with an OLED panel. Apparently, this monitor continues the lines of its predecessor, without notable design changes. According to the leaked image, this new monitor has the same frames and support as the INZONE M9.
They also report that in addition to this high-end version, they are preparing a more economical model, the IN THE M3 ZONE. We don’t know more data, but we imagine that it will be more compact and could eliminate the OLED panel to use a more “ordinary” one.
To think that Sony went two years without touching these monitors and of course the competition left them behind. Better quality panels, higher refresh rates and all sorts of underlying technologies to deliver the best possible gaming experience.
We have seen how, every year, the main manufacturers of gaming monitors launch new solutions. They always offer panels with better color quality, better refresh rates and image synchronization technologies. In addition, their size has increased and their price has been adjusted, in many cases, downwards.
Factors that led to the ostracism of Sony monitors. It’s not like the company has paid much attention to them since their launch. Admittedly, INZONE had already been forgotten and Sony was marketing gaming monitors.
Chinese media reports that these new INZONE monitors could be announced on September 25 (Wednesday). The new INZONE M9 with OLED panel surely has 4K resolution and other additional technologies and could easily cost between 1,000 and 1,500 dollars. This monitor could have a size of 32 inches and probably have a curved panel.
On the other hand, the hypothetical INZONE M3 could have a 1440p resolution and a 27-inch panel size. It probably also features a curved panel and a few other extras. This model could be around 400-700 dollars, no problem.
