Nintendo’s long-awaited museum is finally opening to the public soon. The place is packed with decades of Nintendo history, from the upstart company’s playing card manufacturing in the late 19th century to its current hit console, the Switch. But perhaps the best thing about this museum is actually the gift shop, which is filled with some of the coolest Nintendo merchandise I’ve seen in a long time.

On October 2nd, after the announcement in 2022, the official Nintendo Museum will open. Good luck getting in, because the tickets are sold out for the next two months. What really excites me, however, is not the tour through the long history of the publishing house Nintendo, And Metroid Games; instead I want to Shopping in the museum shop. Music box posted a lot of photos of the place online and it’s wild to browse through. The shop includes shirts, mugs, pens, and other items based on every Nintendo console. Yes, even the Virtual Boy!

Have you ever thought to yourself, “What I really need is a coffee mug in the colors and logo of Nintendo’s failed 3D handheld console, the Virtual Boy”? Well, you lead a strange life, but lucky for you, Nintendo can make your (oddly specific) dreams come true. There are also Wii U items. Perhaps the coolest things I’ve discovered are giant pillows based on various Nintendo controllers. Finally, I can sleep on a giant and fluffy N64 gamepad. I hope some (or most) of this stuff finds its way to the Nintendo Store in NYC, because I’m scared of what bootleggers will charge for a SNES baseball cap.

Here are some of the coolest things we discovered in the shop, but Also check out Music box for even more photos of everything in the store, including prices on many of these items and more close-ups of smaller merchandise.
