The HBO series The Last of Us is undoubtedly one of the phenomena of recent years. Video games and adaptations on the small and big screens have never been a good match in the past, but the trend has clearly reversed recently, with the exception of the Borderlands film. High ratings, prestigious awards… the TLOU series has exceeded all expectations and of course its sequel is awaited with particular excitement. First look at Season 2 of The Last of Us
Today is the big day for the fans. Like every September 26th, Naughty Dog celebrates the day the pandemic began in the successful game with several initiatives, goodies and, above all, some announcements. Since the first-ever official trailer for the series was released to coincide with The Last of Us Day, we expected the Season 2 trailer to be released this year, but that didn’t happen. Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey and Isabela Merced set the tone. After a very short teaser released earlier this year, HBO’s adaptation of Naughty Dog’s cult game returns with a new, much more extensive video.
It’s no surprise that we find Joel and Ellie, Dina, Jessie and the other residents of Jacksonville, but this first trailer for The Last of Us season 2 highlights another expected character. HBO finally decides to give us a concrete look at the frail Abby, played by the talented Kaitlyn Dever. Players will recognize specific environments, iconic sequences and supporting characters at a glance. As with the first season, the series’ next episodes should provide more context on the two clashing factions: the Seraphites and the Wolves.
