Star Wars Outlaws is an impressive but chaotic game. It offers an incredibly immersive open world, but puts cumbersome stealth at the heart of the gameplay. The beginning is slow and it’s easy to fall off. In the words of one My city Author: “It’s a fucking masterpiece.” However, publisher Ubisoft seems intent on making it an unqualified GOTY contender and has announced a number of big updates for the coming months.
“Our team is currently working hard to incorporate your feedback and deliver new content,” said the game’s developers at Massive tweeted on Friday. “More title updates will be coming your way in the coming weeks, along with the release of our first story pack on November 21st.” An attached roadmap previews three upcoming updates, as well as the previously announced Lando Calrissian DLC pack, which will arrive in the November will be published.
An October 3rd title update will include bug fixes and general improvements. Later this month, an October 24 update is expected to improve quality of life. On November 21st, in addition to the Steam release and the first story pack, the title update promises 4 combat and stealth improvements as well as additional free contract missions. The plans are vague, but it’s clear that Ubisoft is trying turn Star Wars Outlaws to a bigger hit.
The publisher pointed to “weaker” sales in a press release yesterday Assassin’s Creed Shadows would be delayed to further refine the blockbuster and use insights from it Outlaws about the game, which was originally supposed to be released in November. Delaying the game to February may result in improvements if you have time for the type of fixes Outlaws Since the game is now available post-launch, it also creates room for Ubisoft to make it an open world star Wars Game at the center of its big holiday push on Black Friday.
Based on my current time with the Han Solo-inspired story about the sci-fi universe’s criminal underworld, the deeper you go, the more locations and abilities are unlocked, the better it gets. Many of its interesting world-building and storylines are also hidden in the back half. Improving the systems and polishing will make the game a better experience overall, but I’m excited to see how deep Massive will go in depth and rework the underlying game.
That’s what CD Projekt Red ended up doing Cyberpunk 2077Revamping the core systems and adding crucial new mechanics that helped shape the world and story much more exciting to explore and interact with. Star Wars Outlaws is not in the state at all Cyberpunk was when it launched and was infamously removed from the PlayStation Store for the PS4, but I think it could benefit just as much from a longer-term retool that goes beyond some superficial player feedback and complaints.
I would also like to see it become huge at some point Phantom freedom-big expansion at some point. We’ll see how the rest turns out OutlawsFall updates go first.
