Gaming News PS5: Metro Awakening will definitely scare us
Last night during Sony’s State of Play, Metro Awakening further presented its universe through a new trailer: the release date was also announced.
Much worse than line 13
The Metro saga began in 2010 and has gained a reputation through three honestly appreciated works, the last of which dates back to 2019. It’s been five years since we heard about the license, but recently we learned of its existencea brand new episode called Metro Awakening. And it will be… a prequel that can only be played in virtual reality. Vertigo Games is also responsible for development, compared to 4A Games for previous games.
For this untold story, We will play Serdar, a captured doctor in this ultra-dark post-apocalyptic universe where humanity has sought refuge in the subway tunnels of Russia to avoid the consequences of nuclear war. But between the radioactive creatures and the various factions waging a merciless war, suffice it to say he has a lot of work to do: His main goal will be to find his wife and find a cure to cure her.

When the game will be available on Steam VR, Viveport or even on Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3, it will rely above all on Sony’s media power to preach to its congregation, as it is already one of the new spearheads of PSVR2. A new trailer also aired last night during State of Play, which you can watch in our video player above.
The opportunity to set foot in this absolutely frightening, oppressive, but above all nice atmosphere: Metro Awakening promises to be a real video game, dense and scripted, and a simple experience like VR can’t get us used to it most of the time. It has to be said that since then a certain Half-Life: Alyx has been there to reshuffle the cards.
To know our impressions, you should know that we actually played the game and that our preview is available at this address. Without that, Metro Awakening will be available on November 7th: it is already possible to pre-order it in the standard edition or in the deluxe version including 10% discount, 48-hour early access, VR concept art and other in-game bonuses.
