After much anticipation Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 is now available on Xbox Series X|S, bringing new mutations, mutilations and multiplayer options to continue your adventures on the Sword Coast. Since so much has been added, we thought it would be helpful to break down what’s new, especially since some elements may be a little less familiar than others!
Kicking things off are our brand new Evil Endings – 13 in total (what a promising number), all designed to reward those of you with the cast-iron stomachs you need to deal with some truly dastardly ones throughout your playthrough to make decisions. You asked, we answered…just be careful what you wish for.
We have also brought an updated version of our Dynamic Split Screen Divinity: Original Sin 2 To Baldur’s Gate 3. Your couch co-op sessions no longer have to be littered with arguments about which direction to take! This update means that whenever you and your party members want to go in different directions, the screen will dynamically split and merge again when you’re back in range.
But the real highlight of today’s update is our new Mod Manager, allowing console players to enjoy that special brand of mayhem usually reserved for PC players. However, we appreciate that with so many mods available it can be a bit overwhelming. To get you started, here’s a rundown of five of our favorites that really showcase the depth of the new toolkit:
1) Paladins have gods from Walkman
The deities who oversee the lands of the Forgotten Realms are a fickle bunch, often referring to “god” as “divine.” So why not give your loyal paladin a few extra annoyances by pledging allegiance to one of these criminals? We promise you more depth, spice and new dialogue options – and we wouldn’t break an oath to you!
2) Path of Nightmares – Dark Urge Dice by elliegreenart
There are a variety of mods that add visual customization options to your game Baldur’s Gate 3 Adventure. We have hair mods, face mods and even coloring and clothing packs. But when you have so much choice, consider the humble icosahedron – D20 for me and you. Why not combine your latest run exploring Patch 7’s new Evil Endings with these beauties from elliegreenart? Go ahead – they will put the “cube” back in your dice.
3) Adjustable party limit by PixellBytes
To paraphrase the great Lesley Gore: A big party? You can try it if you want! Yes, one of the most requested wishes we’ve ever seen has finally come to fruition thanks to the noble work of Pixellbytes, which has additional features that allow you to wander the Sword Coast with a party of up to 16 adventurers. A few fun facts: That’s exactly 1.7 times the size of a certain famous nine-member group, and the mod even works in multiplayer. Okay, maybe only one of these is actually fun.
4) The Celestial Warlock subclass
Despite the existing offer of 12 classes and 46 subclasses in Baldur’s Gate 3We firmly believe that a change is just as good as a break. Then consider this alternative subclass for the Warlock of Tepkunset. Celestial Warlock inverts the original premise of a warlock being bound to a demon and draws his power from a denizen of the upper planes, offering a very different gaming and roleplaying experience. In fact, a star is born.
5) UnlockLevelCurve – Levels 13-20 by Dustbag
They say absolute power corrupts absolutely. So what better way to celebrate our new Evil Ending than to turn it up to 11, add more fingers to the monkey’s paw, and do more than just blow the damn doors off? This mod from Dustbag allows you to advance your characters beyond level 12 by adding levels 13-20 for all classes, so you can be the true terror you were always meant to be. Get it, Tiger.
