The Eastern Temple is a mini-dungeon in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom this is the home of the “Let’s play a game” Side quest. You have to defeat the monster in the temple for the archaeologist Sago, who wants to continue his work there.
Included Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom In the guide, we’ll show you how to get through the East Temple and complete the Let’s Play a Game quest. You will also learn how to defeat the temple boss Smog.
Eastern Temple location and how to start Let’s Play a Game
Head to the East Temple, conveniently located east of Hyrule Castle.
At the entrance you meet Sago, who tells you that he wants to do archaeological work in the temple, but that he heard a strange voice asking him to play a game and fears that there are monsters inside. You must eliminate this monster so he can do his job.
Immediately at the entrance to the East Temple, you will be greeted by two sparks moving synchronously around two pillars. Sparks do no damage to Zelda, but temporarily stun her and knock her backwards.
You can use obstacles to push the sparks out of the way and let you pass, or you can defeat them with enemy ranged echoes. If you do this, you can learn this Spark echo
There are three sparks in this room, as well as a cube-shaped mechanism in the corner. If you watch for a few seconds (while avoiding the sparks!), you’ll see that one of the sparks enters the mechanism and causes it to light up.
You need to get the other two sparks into the cube to open the door. You can do this by grabbing them with Bind. It may be easier to time it if you catch it between two obstacles first. Go through the opened door to get to the next room.
In this room you will also have to change the path of the sparks so that they enter the cube. First, take a step up to the boulder and the small wall on the north side of the room Table. Then grab one of the sparks with X and climb these makeshift stairs.
Once the sparks are at the level of the cube, you can release them and they should eventually cross with the cube. Go through the door that is now open.
In this room, two sparks guard a chest. Since you can’t move them from there with Bind, you can use a ranged echo of the enemy, e.g Spear Moblin to defeat them. The Spear Moblin’s accuracy isn’t great against a moving enemy, but it will defeat them eventually!
Open the chest to obtain it five rock salt Then go down the ladder on the west side of this room.
In this 2D room, there are a few sparks rotating around the upper platforms and a Caromadillo on the floor. Defeat the Caromadillo with an enemy Echo to get this Caromadillo Echo Lv. 2. Then you can either defeat the sparks or move past them with careful timing to enter the next room on the right.
In this room, the sparks penetrate the water and electrify a small area around them. However, they are not too difficult to avoid. Swim to the bottom of the pool to open a chest 50 rubies in and then continue to the right. Be sure to pause if you’re about to collide with a spark while dodging the boulder, but you should be able to climb out the other side without too much trouble. Climb the stairs to get to the next room.
This is a bit of a breather, with two pots to smash but no enemies.
How to defeat Smog, the Eastern Temple boss
Entering this room will begin the Eastern Temple boss fight, a so-called electric cloud smog.
Smog will move around this maze-like area and shoot lightning balls at you. The Swordsman form won’t be of much use to you here, as Smog can electrocute Zelda via the sword.
Summon enemy ranged mobs like this Spear Moblinat intersections to get a good look at smog. You can also tie it short to give them a little more time to shoot. This will also reverse the direction of smog.
After three hits, Smog will abandon the “round” and break into three smaller pieces. You need to observe their patterns and interrupt and block them with boulders so that they reconnect before you can do any further damage to him.
Once Smog is in one piece again, repeat the steps to break it down again, this time into five pieces. Again, bring these pieces back together into one giant smog while avoiding the electricity. Note that the rock in the top right is trapped and you will need to push the boulder out of the way to free it.
All you have to do now is hit Smog three more times with enemy echo attacks and you’ve completed this boss fight! You’ll get a lot of it Rubies and a Centerpiece as a reward. And you will be teleported back to Room #1 of the East Temple so you can go outside and tell Sago the good news.
Sago will give you one old charm This will reduce the damage you suffer while wearing it. This completes the “Let’s Play a Game” quest.
After completing this quest, if you are far enough into the game to have completed the Rift in Faron Wetlands, you can begin the Cotton Candy Hunt quest at the Hidden Ruins, which will redirect to them.
