Xbox head Phil Spencer weighed in on the possibility of a corona virus causing game and hardware delays.
Xbox boss in a long interview with IGN Phil Spencer A wide range of topics were discussed, including how gaming deals with the coronavirus pandemic between its departments.
First, Spencer knows that the safety of his various teams is now paramount. "I wouldn't make a decision, or frankly, everyone at Microsoft would even ask me to make a decision, which would compromise the security of the team and get financial or product benefits in the short term," Spencer said.
For the Xbox Series X, in terms of China's production capacity, the executive said that the supply chain is starting to make a comeback. He revealed: "We can see things in the factory and we are getting things back from them, which works well for us."
"We don't say anything at this time that we will not be dating according to plan, but I also want to say that this is a real-time thing. I want to put the safety and security of the team first. First-class products and quality products.
Although Microsoft has apparently not announced any delays for the Xbox Series X or Halo Infinite, Spencer said that developing at home is not an easy process and considers the team to be "very nervous".
"Making video games at home-a large distributed team of hundreds is not easy. Spencer explained that the video games we know now are large and each game has a huge asset base."
"Things are not easy right now. I think things are stressful. I feel in the team and they work hard."
When asked if Microsoft had an Xbox X-series launch plan B, assuming things didn't return to normal as quickly as you hoped, Spencer said he didn't want to ask questions at this stage. But he did confirm that Microsoft is not interested in cross-region staggered releases, which is a lesson learned from the Xbox One release.
In terms of software, considering Microsoft's fuss about Halo Infinite being a startup game, Spencer knows well that the launch of the Xbox Series X will not be hindered by any independent game.
Xbox Series X and Halo Infinite are scheduled to be released this holiday season.
