As you will remember motorcycling fans, a new motorcycle title was confirmed last February for Nintendo Switch. It was a new installment in the MotoGP series: MotoGP 20. The game is slated to launch on the Nintendo console and other platforms next April 23rd And for the first time in its history, the game will launch a few weeks after the official start of the MotoGP Championship, something that takes a lot of effort from the development team to allow players to fully enjoy the current racing season alongside their legends.
In this title, players will be able to participate in the 2020 season, compete against MotoGP champions or you can put yourself in the shoes of a young rider and rank up in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup to reach the top class.
Well, Milestone has shared a press release with interesting news about the game. You can watch below:
Today Milestone launches a new trailer in MotoGP ™ 20, revealing the main features of its brand new Manager career. The new Career Mode will put players in the boots of professional riders, with an engaging and progressive gaming experience both on and off the track. As in true MotoGP ™, it is not enough to be fast on the track; Players must make the best decisions to find a winning strategy that allows them to dominate the Championship.
Echoing real life, one of the key figures at the top of the team is the personal manager, whose job can really make a difference when it comes to sponsorship and contract opportunities. Players will need to evaluate all offers they receive, from both real-life teams and new player-created teams, carefully observing their commitment and expectations before making a decision. If players select a new team, they will be able to make their rider and motorcycle stand out by using different graphic editors to modify the helmet, race number, lower patch, stickers and livery of the motorcycle. The skills of the personal manager come into play when asked to try to create a stronger team, or negotiate a better salary, following the player's directions.
When it comes to being fast on the track, it is the choice of the players' technical staff that influences the performance of the bike; The most trained technicians will be able to develop motorcycles better and faster, but of course they will be much more expensive than others. How do you find the right balance between budget and performance? It depends on the players! Track tests over the weekend will provide valuable development data, but synergy between engineers will determine how much of this knowledge can actually be used to manufacture new parts. Each engineer will have different skills in different areas, so teamwork will be key.
Participating in winter and mid-season tests allows players to develop their bike, choosing up to 3 different packages with various combinations of engines and frames to find the perfect settings for the season. Once the season starts, players can also improve the performance of different parts of the bike, earning and spending development points and assigning their R&D staff to reach the highest level. Aerodynamics, electronics, engine power, and fuel consumption are just one example of the many technical pieces that players can now get to upgrade their bikes.
For the first time, Milestone is also announcing new features that will support the game after launch, which will further expand the contents of the Manager Career game; more details on post-launch features to be revealed soon, stay tuned!
MotoGP ™ 20 will launch on April 23 on PlayStation®4, Xbox One, Windows PC® / STEAM, Google Stadia and Nintendo Switch ™. In the United States, the Nintendo Switch version will be released on May 5, 2020.
