LG's support text indicates that the company plans to install AirPlay 2 and HomeKit support on it some of their 2018 televisions. The new features will be available around October 2020.

LG has indicated in the past few months that AirPlay 2 will only interact with its televisions after 2019, starting with could not guarantee "great user experience" in previous models. Now, with a petition signed by over 20,000 people on Channel.org, the company has changed its plans.

Similarly, due to HomeKit compatibility we can turn on, off, volume control, installation channel, etc. using Siri or the Home app on our Apple devices.
This is really good news, and it is very much expected of many LG TV users. In a few months our televisions will be much better.
