While Netflix is already canceling its KAOS series, the Max platform is announcing bad news to its subscribers. The spin-off of an iconic franchise from your childhood is on the way.
The 2025 Max release schedule is filling up and things are looking good for now. From next year, Warner Bros. Discovery has already announced the broadcast of Welcome to Derrythe prequel series to Andy Muschietti’s It films with Pennywise, season 2 of The Last of Us, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the next television spin-off of Game of Thrones, or even Peacemaker season 2. This Max spin-off series from a cult anime will disappear
The cancellation of the KAOS series and the abandonment of That 90’s Show on Netflix are spreading. The Max platform, in turn, announces bad news for this series based on a cult license: Velma. In fact, the spin-off of the cult franchise Scooby-Doo, which shook the childhoods of millions of people, especially with its animated film, is not renewed and will therefore not return in 2025 and beyond.
« In the last two seasons, Mindy [Kaling] and Charlie [Grandy] have created an incredibly entertaining and fresh world within the legendary Whodunits series. While we are not planning a new season of the series, we thank them for their captivating coming-of-age story, their unmatched clues, and their hilarious antics » said a spokesman for Max. Despite the latter’s praise, it must be admitted that the reception did not live up to expectations. Expert critics and the public were hardly convinced by the proposal. And yet this time we see that this did not stop the animated series from having the right to two seasons.
In the new Max features for October 2024, a special Halloween episode has even been available on the service since October 3rd. This animated series, whose adventure ends here, is a reimagining of Scooby-Doe that reveals the origins of Mystery Inc. from the perspective of Vera (Velma in the original version). If you want to form an opinion, at the time of writing, both seasons are still available on Max. To see whether the SVOD service plans to eliminate it in the future or not to free up space and save money.
