HyperOS 2.0 is next major update that Xiaomi mobile devices will receive. This is the evolution of a system with which the company replaced its previous customization layer, MIUI, a year ago.
This update will not only be available for the company’s most modern phones, like the Xiaomi 14 or the POCO X6 Pro, but it will also reach older devices. If you own one of these Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO phones, we have good news: you will receive HyperOS 2.0
HyperOS 2.0 yes, but Android 15 no
Xiaomi has already shown that it is possible to bring HyperOS to more devices, even models that are not compatible with the latest version of Android. Mobile phones like the POCO F3 and Redmi K40, for example, received a version of the HyperOS update based on Android 13, not based on Android 14.
This is the case for around twenty Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phones which will be updated to HyperOS 2.0 but without Android 15. What they will receive is a version of the operating system that will be based on Android 14, so they will be able to continue to enjoy many of the improvements of the new version of HyperOS, even if they will not have all the new features from the latest. version of Android.
Here are the phones that will receive HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 14:
The upgrade to HyperOS 2.0 will include major changes in interface design of the operating system, including a renewed menu for the multitasking screen, or recent applications, similar to that of iOS. The new version also includes changes in the design of the Settings menu, improvements to the camera and the gallery’s own image editor, smoother animations in the system and other new features.
The update to HyperOS 2.0 is expected to start arriving on compatible devices in October, first in China, and in the rest of the world starting in late 2024 and early 2025.
