The arrival of iOS 14 is imminent when there are no last-minute surprises, and some leaks of its details continue to arrive, such as The iCloud Keychain feature that stores your app and web passwords will improve on iOS 14 with some features that will lend you an app for 1Password.
ICloud Keychain is one of those "hidden" iOS functions that helps you a lot in your day to day. In a user-friendly way, it stores your information for accessing web pages and applications, so you don't have to worry about entering a simple password or using it regularly, which is not recommended, but which we all do not to forget. ICloud Keychain suggests that you have complex and random passwords that the application itself stores, synced across all your devices and only you, with your iPhone access password, can communicate.
However, when we compare it with what other apps provide us, such as 1Password, it seems enough shortcomings, especially when it comes to consulting stored passwords. 1Password is not a bad bench for this kind of service and sets the bar too high, and Apple, aware of this, looks like in iOS 14 it will upgrade its Keychain to make it more like it. They will let us know if we use the same password for different websites and applications, something not recommended, and it will also help us to access sites that require two-factor authentication, without the need for SMS or email.
Will Apple make us forget about the password storage services we use regularly? It would be good news, because integration with the program and, above all, relief, would make many of us happy that I found it. Although as I mentioned before, the bar is very high.
