Developer Powersnake took to the Future Games Show Spring Showcase earlier this year to reveal Voidwrought, an upcoming horror metroidvania that looks to have more than a little Hollow Knight in its DNA.
This one launches on the Switch eShop on October 24throwing us into a creepy underworld filled with tricky combat and dangerous platforming — does it ring a bell? The art style and movement mechanics immediately remind us of Team Cherry’s masterpiece, but this doesn’t feel like any old hollow knock-off (goodness knows we’ve seen some of those), with an underlying goal of building a shrine that feels much more upbeat than dark and of the downtrodden world of Hallownest.
You can check out a summary of the game’s features and a handful of screenshots below:
Dive below the surface
Descend below the star-scorched surface and explore the multidimensional depths below. Witness the corrupt merriment of the Court, get lost in the icy tunnels of the Old Waters and discover the grim fate of the Abandoned Expedition.
With crisp controls, engaging exploration, and deep lore to discover, Voidwrought is a dynamic addition to the modern Metroidvania genre.
Unleash ancient artifacts
The world is full of treasures sought by the learned, the brave and the mad. Search the halls of your shrine, tear apart the corpses of defeated deities, and search the hidden corners of space to find items that can grant unique powers.
Discover and equip over 30 relics and souls, from spectral weapons to passive buffs, to suit your preferred playstyle.
Build your own shrine
Some still hold to the original faith. From a tiny cult, expand your influence and dig further into the ruins. As you expand your sanctuary and followers, new secrets, rewards and horrors are revealed.Features

This one will land on Change eShop later this month for £16.75 / $19.99and now there’s even a free demo version available so you can try it out before the full launch. It won’t make Silksong come any faster, but it might make the wait feel like it little less endless.
