What’s going on with the streaming service Joyn? There is currently an error message when retrieving content. We reveal what is known about the disorder so far.

Update 5:20 p.m.: The problem has been resolved.

If you want to access Celebrity Big Brother or other content from the ProSieben/Sat.1 group via Joyn, take a look. The streaming service is apparently struggling with a disruption. Instead of starting playback, we get an error message. “Oops! Something went wrong. Asset not available in country” can be read on the screen.

We are not alone with the problem, as many similar messages in the Netzwelt fault reporter for Joyn show. Also on X (formerly Twitter) you can find corresponding posts. The error message says that the content does not appear to be available in our country. Joyn may have a problem determining your location.

A VPN can help here. With appropriate programs, you can change your location virtually and see whether Joyn will let you play content. A free VPN is also suitable for testing. Otherwise, you’ll have no choice but to wait for the streaming service to fix the problem.
