Tales of Kenzera: ZAU developer Surgent Studios is ceasing operations for the time being due to a lack of funding.
In April, the developer studio Surgent Studios, led by actor Abubakar Salim, released its first game, Tales of Kenzera: ZAU. Despite good reviews, the studio had to lay off employees a short time later.
Now there is bad news again about the status of the studio. Due to a lack of financing for a new project, we are forced to stop operations for the time being:
“We have decided to pause the work of the Surgent games department while we secure funding for our next project,” reads one Post on X
.
At the same time, it promises further exciting updates for Tales of Kenzera: ZAU and is recruiting potential backers for its new project, which will combine the grueling combat and cultural depth of ZAU with a new concept and new elements.
