WhatsApp has just been officially updated with three very interesting new features
WhatsApp has just launched a official update of its iPhone application which brings interesting new features. If you head to the App Store to download the latest update, version 24.21.81 of the messaging app, you can now enjoy these new features. Oddly enough, this is news we’ve never heard of before.
Normally, important WhatsApp news is first tested in the public beta version of WhatsApp which any user can install. This is how we discovered such important improvements as WhatsApp color themes. But, in this case, we did not find evidence of these improvements which introduced the official WhatsApp update to version 24.21.81.
WhatsApp is updated with three important improvements
As we can see in the patch notes, WhatsApp version 24.21.81 includes three important improvementsin addition to improving application performance and resolving errors that appear. Here are the main new features of the WhatsApp update:
- The new home screen widget lets you choose between recent, favorite, pinned, or frequent contacts.
- You can now mention other people in the United States. Press the @ button in the editor during the editing step.
- The camera now supports zoom from 0.5x to 3x.
WhatsApp is updated with 3 important improvements
As we can see, we now have a WhatsApp widget to put on the home screen of our iPhone. Just hold the screen, tap Edit > Add Widget, find the WhatsApp app and add one of the available widgets. There are two sizes of widgets providing access to different conversations. You can change them by holding them down to select the type of discussion you want to see: Recent, Favorites, Pinned, or Frequent.
On the other hand, we can now mention contacts in our statuses by writing an @ followed by their name, which we already had available in other Meta applications like Instagram. In addition, the camera is more powerful, which allows zoom of 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x and 5xdepending on the iPhone model and telephoto lens you are using. This option appears inside a circle which, when touched, will change the zoom.
As usual on WhatsApp, Not all users will receive these updates immediately. WhatsApp says that “they will launch in the coming weeks,” so even if you have this version, you may not be able to access these new features for a few days.

WhatsApp continues improvement and addition of features and it’s very interesting. It is one of the most popular apps in the world and millions of users have it installed on their devices.
