Although MIUI and, above all, the new HyperOS are very complete systems and full of useful features, the advertising in the system This remains an unanswered question for the company. This advertising can be a nuisance for us users, but luckily there are ways to get rid of it.
By simply changing some system settings we can forget those annoying ads. It doesn’t even take two minutes to make these changes, and by making them the experience has considerably improved in my daily life: I now enjoy my Xiaomi mobile and all its possibilities, without suffering from the presence of advertising.
Change these settings to forget advertising on your Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO mobile
What we need to do to combat advertising on our devices is disable or disable a series of system settings, which are responsible for managing advertising. It is possible to do both on MIUI and HyperOSso whatever mobile phone you have, you will be able to follow these steps.
Our greatest “enemy” is something called msaa service responsible for managing advertisements in the system. This item cannot be disabled, but we can disable it with two quick settings, there is no need to install anything.
First of all, we follow these steps:
- We go to the System Settings menu
- We access fingerprints, facial data and screen lock
- Then click Authorization and revocation
- On this screen we are looking for ‘msa‘ and we deactivate it
In this way we will revoke the permissions for this element to work correctly. Now let’s turn off your notifications. To do it, we follow these steps:
- We go to the Settings menu and enter the Applications section
- We select “Manage Applications” and click on the three-dot button in the upper right corner. Now we select ‘Show all apps‘
- In the search bar, we search msa
- Finally, click on Notifications and We deactivate the ‘Show notifications’ option
After following these steps, we have already disabled advertising-related settings on your mobile Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO. The ads will decrease drastically, in my case they have almost completely disappeared.
Nevertheless, we can still do something more:
- We hold down the home screen and select Settings
- Then click on ‘More’ and in this menu We disable the ‘Show suggestions’ option
After following these steps, as they explain to us in Xataka Móvil, we will not see advertising in the Launcherwhich may occasionally suggest the installation of applications or other recommendations.
