Brace yourselves, people start salivating and jumping up and down every time something happens related to a possible successor to the Nintendo Switch – I’m going to say: Switch 2? ! ? – surface. Yooka-Replaylee, the fun-named remake of Yooka-Laylee, has just been announced for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and an unspecified “Nintendo platform.”
That’s what happened with games like My Time At Evershine , released last month, which said it would be coming to “yet-to-be-announced future Nintendo platforms” (PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S were also among them ), people have done the obvious and assumed the most likely option is that Yooka-Replaylee might be coming to Switch 2, or whatever it ends up being called. Maybe Valuwicz?

In addition to bringing the Switch 2 truth into overdrive, developer Playtonic has also released a new trailer for the remaster, offering “a first look at Tribalstack Tropics and Glitterglaze Glacier, as well as platform and gameplay improvements, tweaked challenges, new characters ( Meet Coinelius! ), new currencies (QUIDS), and a visual overhaul of everything from characters to world and UI/HUD.”
You’ll also, for the first time, feel the game’s orchestral soundtrack filling your ears as you pretend you’re back in 2017, or try to convince a kid born around 2017 that 2017 is actually cool.
There’s no release date yet, but people heading to EGX will be able to play the first available demo of the remaster starting tomorrow, October 25th. Oh, and you can read the original review here, or find a roundup of what everyone has been through here.
