A lot still has to happen before VR becomes part of everyday life
Comfort and design are central factors when it comes to the acceptance of VR and AR headsets in everyday life. The devices must become significantly lighter and more ergonomic in order to enable longer periods of use. Another obstacle is the limited compatibility of many platforms: closed systems make it difficult to make content freely accessible and optimize the user experience. Openness could mean the decisive breakthrough here.
In addition, it is becoming apparent that AR and VR take on different roles: While augmented reality primarily shows potential for practical everyday applications, virtual reality currently remains more focused on immersive entertainment experiences. Finally, without a rich offering of content and games, the mass market for VR will remain difficult to access.
Now the question is: What do you think, is VR and AR still missing from breaking through into the mass market? Share your opinions and experiences in the comments!
