What is worrying is the possibility that this behavior could result in Nintendo introducing new rules for certain visitors.
As much as Japan welcomes tourists, there has been a surge in the number of travelers in recent years – and the country has introduced new restrictions and fees in response. There have also been cases where tourists do not respect local rules, culture and laws.
Of course, this isn’t the first time something like this has happened and it’s only gotten harder for companies to control in the age of social media.
Nintendo’s new Switch Online playtest launched this week, and participants are asked not to “discuss or reveal content.” Unsurprisingly, as soon as it went live, players were streaming and posting footage of the playtest to social media and elsewhere online.
