Gaming News Assassin’s Creed Mirage is struggling to find its place on Steam
Assassin’s Creed Mirage was released on other platforms last year and has just arrived on Steam. Like his hero, in a very discreet way.
A year later
We had to wait for the bad news about Ubisoft’s financial situation until the French video game giant thought about reviewing its strategy around Steam releases. As Rayman’s father announced from now on, All future games from the company will be released on the Valve platform on day one! This is important news that could mean the beginning of the end for Ubisoft Connect in the more or less near future. Yves Guillemot promised to speak before the end of the month to provide further explanations on Ubisoft’s new course.
While we wait for the release of Star Wars Outlaws on Steam scheduled for November 21st, Assassin’s Creed Mirage has arrived on the American platform a year after its release on Ubisoft Connect and Xbox/PlayStation consoles. The least we can say is that this launch didn’t cause much of a stir. Figures collected by SteamDB show that just over 6,300 players were playing Ubisoft’s software on the Saturday following its release.. On October 20, that number rose to over 7,800 before falling back to around 6,000 at press time. As remembered GameRantValhalla, which arrived on Steam two years late, had reached 15,600 players. We must assume that the low price offered on the occasion of this release, despite a 50% discount, did not allow Mirage to blow up sales figures.

Back to basics
As we have said several times, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a very good game that received a score of 17/20 from us. This work offers a welcome return to basics, mixing an old-fashioned credo with more modern mechanics. Inspired by what made the series’ initial success, Mirage offers a nice freedom of action, even if the very classic side risks leaving some players behind. Nevertheless, fans of the franchise have a lot to offer with the gripping story of the great story. “Basim’s Adventure doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it’s an excellent way to wait for the next big game in the license,” we concluded in our review. That’s good news as the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been pushed back to February 14, 2025. As a reminder, this episode, which has already caused quite a stir, will be released on Steam on “day one”.
