Acclaimed video game The Oregon Trial is getting the action comedy treatment from Apple. Oregon Trail will be directed and produced by Will Speck and Josh Gordon, with Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul providing original music and production. The film script is signed by The Lucas Bros. and Max Reisman.
“The game is meant to mimic the pioneer times of the 19th century, following a covered wagon heading west. Created in 1971, the game achieved cult status among American students by the 1990s as one of the first educational computer games allowed in schools — and for its hilariously dark story of broken arms, typhoid and dysentery.”
