Nine years after its release, the already excellent The Witcher 3 gains significant immersion thanks to a brand new feature made possible thanks to REDkit.

Since REDkit was made available for The Witcher 3 last May, modders have had a field day filling CD Projekt RED’s masterpiece with content and features. The one we are interested in here is interested precisely in a mod that is already extremely popular in Skyrim and will therefore be installed in the Northern Kingdoms to make them even more immersive.

A “hellish new wind” is blowing in The Witcher 3

By adding modding tools that give enthusiasts complete control over The Witcher 3, CD Projekt RED regularly offers challenges for the most talented modders. One of them was to change the atmosphere of the game’s open world to see what it would look like in the fall. Ianjoseph1986 took the challenge and even went one step further. Inspired by the very popular Seasons of Skyrim, here is one Adjustment sur Wild Hunt, christened “The Conjunction of the Seasons Climate and Nature Overhaul”.

As the name suggests, this mod allows you to change the weather and seasons in the Northern Kingdoms or All Saints Day, the setting of the fantastic Blood and Wine DLC. The modder even went so far as to completely re-texture the entire vegetation for each season. It’s now possible to stroll through The Witcher 3 in summer, fall, winter or spring.

However, this mod is still under development. Its creator also intends to integrate the ability to dynamically change the seasons depending on the game calendar. A big task in perspective, its equivalent in Skyrim using very complex modding tools. Tools that unfortunately could not be reused in The Witcher 3. A mod that’s definitely worth keeping a close eye on while waiting for news on the highly sought-after The Witcher 4, currently in active development at CD Projekt RED.
