Volume control on the lock screen with iOS 18.2

A few days ago, Apple launched the first beta for developers of iOS 18.2, a version that means taking a new step in the evolution of Apple Intelligence. Plus, some other cool features will be coming, like the ability to change the default apps for a ton of different services. This function will affect many countries, even outside the European Union. But another interesting feature that has gone unnoticed is the new volume control on lock screen,

a control that disappeared with the iOS 16 lock screen redesign… but which will be back in iOS 18.2.

iOS 16 was a big change for the personalization of our devices. Remember that this was the first version which integrated the customizable widgets as well as different clock styles which could be modified on several levels: typography, color, size, etc. Additionally, Apple introduced live wallpapers that remained in iOS 17 and iOS 18, as well as the Redesigned notifications and multiple lock screens

changeable.

However, iOS 16 not only brought good things, but it also eliminated Lock screen volume control. It was a small slider that sat under the playback control when we played media on the lock screen. With this control we could increase and decrease the volume by dragging the bar sideways.

THE the first beta of iOS 18.2 appears to have returned volume control but it must be activated manually. To do this, go to Settings > Accessibility > Audio and Visual > Enable always show the volume control. This way we will always have a visual option to change the volume of our device without accessing the control center or pressing the side buttons.

Remember that iOS 18.2 will arrive around December this year and Apple has already started its developer betas and very soon they will be launched in public beta format.
