The Last of Us is prestige survival horror at its most cinematic and playable. Horrible things happen, and not just from fungus-infested zombies. If you saw this HBO adaptation Even though you’ve never played the game, or only played the game years ago and not before the PlayStation 5 upgrade, it’s worth finding out where Joel and Ellie’s journey began. Few games are as effortlessly able to balance deep post-apocalyptic character drama and emotional arcs with violent body horror atrocities as The Last of Us.
