Google’s next ‘budget’ phone is on the way. Google Pixels are easy to leak and we saw it again with the Pixel 9a which started showing off to the world in late summer with its significant design change. A few weeks ago we saw him in a video that previewed this aesthetic change.
Its camera module will be simpler, although, as we have learned, it will not lack the photographic capabilities of the Pixel 9. Now return to a leak that reveals its full specificationsbringing both good and bad news.
The Pixel 9a no longer has any secrets
We are used to knowing the Google Pixel in advance and the future Pixel 9a is no exception: leaks bring surprises, which in this case are not too much. Now, as we read in Android Headlines, Google’s mid-range specs are clear.

To start, in the middle, they talk about a Pixel 9a which will get bigger: it is equal to the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro in screen diagonal, with 6.3 inches on your Actuate screen. And like this year’s Pixel 8a, it will have a refresh rate of 120 Hz for a fraction of the price of the iPhone 16, which will soon be said: its panel continues to refresh at the standard 60 Hz.
Its processor was easy to predict: the Tensor G4 that we tested in the Pixel 9 family will also be in the Pixel 9a. And it will be accompanied by generous amounts of memory, yes, behind its older brothers: 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage.
In the area of autonomy, it adds a 5,000 mAh battery11% larger than that of its predecessor, but which will surely compensate for the growth in its screen diagonal. Of course, without improvements to fast charging, which will remain at 18 watts for cable and 7.5 watts for wireless charging.
Behind it, housed in the minimalist module we’ve seen in previous leaks, are a few 48 and 13 megapixel cameras respectively for the main angle and the ultra wide angle. The dimensions of the Pixel 9a are also revealed: 154.7 x 73.3 x 8.9 millimeters, weight 186 grams: it retains the thickness but its larger screen makes it grow by a few millimeters.
From what is said, mid-March 2025 is expected to be an advance compared to what has been experienced in past generations. Remember that the Pixel 8a was unveiled in May at Google I/O (a few days before), this would change this tradition forever.
How much will it cost? Android Headlines was able to confirm the price, with some good news: there is no increaseremains the same $499 price as its predecessor. So, it would be $300 less than the Pixel 9 and $500 less than the Pixel 9 Pro, an understandable strategy, otherwise it would lose relevance in the catalog.
