Argonaut Games is hard at work launching its Croc: The Legend of Gobbos remaster for Switch, and now we can exclusively reveal that it’s currently targeting december 2024 release window, priced from $29.99 digitally.
However, the team wants to make sure it lives up to fan expectations and has stated that they are open to a short delay if they feel the game needs a bit more work. Jez San, founder of Argonaut Games, had this to say:
“From the very beginning, our vision has been to release Croc only when we’re happy with it. We’re racing towards a December 2024 release and we’re very close to completion. However, if we need to add a little more refinement, we won’t hesitate to do so, after 27 years of waiting , we believe our dedicated fans can wait a few more weeks.”
In addition, the team also collaborates with Rock It Games for the launch of physical copies of Croc: The Legend of Gobbos. Standard Editions and Collector’s Editions will be available at $39.99 and $129.99 that is, with the latter available for pre-order until December 10, 2024.
The collector’s edition looks special very stylish, featuring an 8″ Croc resin statue with a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity, a PVC Croc keychain, an 18″x24″ artwork poster, an Ultra3DFX decal set, a four-disc CD soundtrack featuring over 100 tracks including remixes, pre-release versions and unused tracks.
If you don’t want to part with $130, keep in mind that a special Croc plush will be available via the Rock It Games storefront.
If that’s not enough, The Living Tombstone has revealed a recently remixed main theme from the upcoming game, and it packs a punch. You can check out the full song at YouTube.
We’ll let you know the exact Croc release date in the coming weeks, but for now we’ll count our pennies and pre-order one of those cute collector’s editions…
