With only two episodes of “Penguin” left and “Dune: Prophecy” about to air, Max is expected to ramp up marketing efforts for next year’s biggest HBO series. The Last of Us Season 2 may be the most anticipated, but don’t forget about the upcoming IT prequel Welcome to Derry , which has just released stills and details from its first season.
We already know the show will take place before the events of Andy Muschietti’s two-part adaptation of Stephen King’s novel, respecting the same continuity, and that Bill Skarsgård’s Pennywise will A return to haunt the children of an earlier generation. “This is a book that we absolutely love and we feel there’s so much more story to tell…It’s so rich in characters and events that we feel we can do justice to the book and the fans with a review. Specific “We’re telling the story of these episodes, which Mike Hanlon wrote based on his research, which included his interviews with the town’s elders,” said Andy and his sister, Barbara Musche Ti explained. The fact is that King’s remarkable book is huge, and I don’t mean that as a cheap pun. Even though the 2017 and 2019 movies did a good enough job of fine-tuning the central conflict and storyline, there’s still so much more to be explored, and I found the idea of exploring these episodes (and of course a bunch of original subplots) in a TV series Quite inspiring.
Since the IT movie sets its timeline “decades later than King’s book,” Welcome to Derry takes place in 1962 (27 years before IT: Chapter One), while Not in the 1930s, the era when the infamous “Black Spot” occurred. ‘Burned. Readers may remember other episodes earlier in the timeline, so it seems like we’ll be getting more flashbacks that gradually explain the origins of Derry’s evil.
“This is a different part of American history, and children and adults alike will feel a new set of fears, considering the costs of the Cold War. Our baseline is 1962, but we’ll jump back in time… every 27 when it In the years since its emergence, this cycle has been marked by two catastrophic events, one at the beginning and one at the end, and we know the Black Spot as an event around which many stories revolve,” the Muschietti duo wrote. The first look at the images highlights the show’s cast, with Jovan Adepo (“Overlord”) leading the cast, possibly playing Mike’s father, Will Hanlon.
In addition to Adebo and Skarsgård, the cast includes newcomers Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Ladd, Madeleine Stowe and Rudy Mancuso. For now, further plot details are being kept under wraps, but we do know that Andy Muschietti is directing four of the nine episodes of the show’s first season. It’s unclear whether IT: Welcome to Delhi was written and filmed with the plot of Volume 2 in mind. The Max will be released sometime in 2025, but a more specific release date won’t be available until next year.
