Keeping our hands on the wheel, we can get through this. I know I don’t currently have an auxiliary cable, but you have to keep it away from me at all costs. Why? Well, because Nintendo is launching a new Nintendo Music app that you can use to play an hour-long variation of the classic Nintendo Dogs theme for the DS.

Yes, this is a real thing. To be fair, this is somewhat of a logical next step, considering the company behind Mario and its fair share of legal battles this year recently entered the alarm clock market with Alarmo earlier this month. Forget Switch 2, Ninty will take over every aspect of your life first.

Once you download it to your smartphone (whether you’re an IOS or Android user), Nintendo Music is basically just an app that lets you play a huge collection of songs from Nintendo games in a familiar way. You have downloaded a music player application before.

You’ll need to subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online to use it, but once you do, you’re free to play a range of playlists that Nintendo has set up for you, including a variety of themes, combine your own themes, or embrace everything from Mario The level theme randomly jumps to Donkey Kong country pop music, causing chaos. You can even set any track (such as the Nintendo Dogs theme) to extend and play for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or a full hour. The last one is what I’m going to do if you send me the auxiliary signal.

How many other games have had their soundtracks added to the app so far? Well, “Pikmin 4”, “Pokémon Crimson and Violet”, “Splatoon 3”, “Animal Crossing”, “Kirby: Star Allies”, “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe”, “Splatoon” “The Legend of Erda: Breath of the Wild,” “Metroid,” “Fire Emblem: Blazing Blade” and “Donkey Kong Country” are popular games specifically mentioned by Nintendo. There are some slightly obscure or retro ones, though, which you can see in the slideshow on this page (this is where I noticed the Nintendogs).
