The Horizon Zero Dawn remaster arrived on PC earlier this week, and like many PlayStation releases before it, its launch came with its share of issues.
It’s clear that PlayStation releasing games on PC has worked really well for the platform, even if some games prove to be more popular than others. But one problem that always exists with PC versions is that they often come with glitches and bugs upon release, and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is no different. Obviously, the immediate controversy is that the remastered version of the game now requires you to link a PSN account, which has been a hot topic on PlayStation this year, and it’s never a good one.

You won’t be surprised to hear that the game has gotten some mixed reviews on Steam, partly due to the PSN requirements, but honestly, there are quite a few reviews that are frustrated with how buggy the game is. One negative review started off by saying that they really enjoyed the game and that “the world-building and graphics are top-notch.
But after briefly mentioning PSN account issues, they went on to talk about how it’s “a lot buggy on PC. In the first 10 minutes I played, I encountered: The main menu crashed randomly, with controls where I had overrides Quit – go back to the game to get them working again, even without moving, the graphics are randomly blurry… I could keep adding items, at least more, but honestly if you really want this remaster. …..Wait a moment? “.
There are many other reviews discussing other issues with the game, such as various performance issues, button input not working, inability to exit the game properly, and more. The good news is that the game did receive an update two days ago or a day after release, so hopefully there will be more patches soon, but I just don’t expect the PSN requirements to change.
